Latvijas Pasts to Resume Deliveries to the UAE, Israel, and
Other Countries
VAS “Latvijas Pasts” will resume accepting customer
shipments for delivery to Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Brunei
Darussalam as of 1 April.
Given the unstable situation and related logistics
challenges, the company warns that delivery times may be longer than usual.
We encourage customers to follow the latest updates on
deliveries to Middle Eastern countries and affected destinations on the Latvijas
Pasts website, as rapid changes may occur depending on how events develop:

Shipments that were held by Latvijas Pasts or its
cooperation partners during the suspension are now being processed according to
the FIFO (first in, first out) principle, with older shipments being delivered
first.

Middle East hostilities halt shipment deliveries
SJSC "Latvijas Pasts" suspends the acceptance of customer parcels for deliveries to Middle Eastern destinations, which are affected by the start of hostilities and air traffic restrictions and logistics disruptions caused by it. The changes are effective from today, March 4.
Latvijas Pasts will immediately resume accepting parcels as
soon as the situation in the Middle East region stabilizes or improves.
Meanwhile, a decision has been taken to suspend the
acceptance of shipments, as it is currently impossible to ensure a predictable
exchange of shipments with Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain,
Brunei Darussalam, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Yemen, Kuwait, Qatar,
Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Sudan.
We draw your attention to the fact that the flow of EMS
shipments to the United Arab Emirates and Israel has also been suspended, so we
urge you not to create shipments to these destinations at this time.
According to public information, air traffic restrictions
have been imposed for the time being until March 15. The situation that the
company is actively following may change depending on the development of events
in the Middle East.
Parcels that are currently at "Latvijas Pasts" or
cooperation partners are stored in sorting centers for later processing
according to the FIFO (first in, first out) principle, delivering the oldest
parcels as a priority.

Changes to Cross-Border Premium and ERS Service Tariffs
Starting from 1 October, in line with customer expectations and quality standards, the tariffs for the Premium international courier delivery service (EMS) and the cross-border parcel return service (ERS) will be updated.
You can review the details here: Changes in Premium shipping rates (from 01.10.2025.) and ERS tariffs (from 01.10.2025.)
As part of this revision, EMS services have been enhanced to include new destinations: the Canary and Balearic Islands in Spain, and Madeira in Portugal. In addition, the first weight bracket has been consolidated into a single tariff – for shipments up to 1 kilogram – with a per-kilogram tariff applied for each additional kilogram.

Changes in Small Parcel and Parcel Flows to the USA
The executive order issued by U.S. President Donald Trump suspending the duty-free “de minimis” regime for all countries has significantly impacted the operations of European postal operators. As a result, from 23 August we are forced to temporarily suspend acceptance of small parcels and parcels for delivery to the USA.
Please note:
-
Small parcels and parcels to the USA booked online must be handed over to Latvijas Pasts by 22 August at the latest. Drop-off points and their working hours are available on the Postal Network website.
-
From 23 August, it will no longer be possible to create new small parcel and parcel shipments to the USA, either online or in person.
In cooperation with international postal organizations – PostEurop, IPC, and UPU – we are working on solutions to restore deliveries to the USA as quickly as possible.
These restrictions do not apply to letter-post items, including document shipments. Similarly, shipments from the USA to Latvia remain unaffected and will continue to be delivered as usual.

Resumption of Mail Flows to Israel
Latvijas Pasts has resumed postal flows with Israel. Although hostilities in Israel continue and air traffic to the country remains limited, solutions have been found to ensure delivery, and mail exchange with Israel has been restored.
Shipments that were stored at the Latvijas Pasts sorting center since the suspension of service on 16 June have now been dispatched to Israel.
